Mr. Ahmed is also associated with Newage Plastics Ltd., which manufactures garment accessories, including high-quality buttons and hangers, supporting the diverse requirements of the apparel manufacturing sector.

As Managing Director of Newage Textiles Ltd., Mr. Ahmed oversees an export-oriented textile manufacturing business established in 2000, with a focus on producing quality fabrics for the international apparel supply chain. Mr. Ahmed has also contributed to Bangladesh’s corporate and academic institutions. He was appointed an Independent Director of Bangladesh National Insurance Company Limited on 8 June 2015. Since 16 January 2017, he has served as a Board Member of the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS). He has also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at the State University of Bangladesh, contributing his professional knowledge and experience to the academic community.

Born on 1 January 1963 in Comilla, Mr. Ahmed pursued his higher education at the University of Dhaka, where he obtained both Honours and Master’s degrees in Accounting.
He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). His dual professional qualifications as FCMA and FCA reflect his strong foundation in accounting, financial management, corporate governance, and business administration.
