Environment Management System
We are committed to making sure that all applicable laws, rules, policies, and procedures are followed in line with Newage Group's goal. By minimizing the environmental impact of our activities and goods, we are dedicated to safeguarding the environment. Our environmental policies are in line with the worldwide Net Zero objective, and we use cutting-edge technologies to try to use fewer natural resources. We have a robust compliance governance system to help with internal control implementation and improvement, as well as to foster a moral workplace culture that can effectively support the group's objective.
Our emphasis is on eco-friendly practices and promoting safe working conditions for employees. It keeps reducing the risks to workers' productivity. Newage has incorporated eco-friendly practices into every aspect of the business.
Green Chemistry
CLEANCHAIN, BHive, and ZDHC are adopted by Newage Group to guarantee Green Chemistry and eliminate dangerous chemicals from manufacturing. In order to preserve the ecosystem, submerged life, and clean water and sanitation for future generations, this is necessary. These are effective methods of verification or analysis for wastewater quality and chemical management optimization and monitoring. They also provide transparency and control over the use of hazardous materials in our textile production process. Now, Ninety-two percent of ZDHC-approved chemicals are used at Newage Group facilities.
Effluent Treatment Plant
By properly treating industrial waste water with an in-house effluent treatment plant, Newage Group guarantees Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals in nature, as effluents can cause considerable water pollution that endangers human health and harms the environment. Two ETPs with capacities of 175 m3 and 1 m3 per hour have been installed. Modern equipment, a standard lab, and operational excellence under the direction of a capable ETP accountable are all features of our ETP. We follow DoE, ZDHC, and other regulations to the letter. We utilize less ground water because we reuse a large volume of treated wastewater.
Green Energy
One of the biggest issues facing the globe now is climate change. Increasing quantities of greenhouse gases (GHGs), primarily carbon dioxide (CO2), in the Earth's atmosphere due to human activities including burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial operations, is the main cause of the current climate change. Therefore, it is imperative to address this growing issue and ascertain the environmental impact of every action. Newage has implemented mitigation efforts to lower greenhouse gas emissions, including installing solar panels on rooftops, purchasing I-RECs, and installing exhaust gas boilers, among other measures.
Energy & Water Efficiency Project
Reducing our production units' resource consumption and environmental impact is a priority for Newage Group. By putting the project's recommendations into practice, we have embraced Climate Roadmap as a comprehensive program that supports our entire facility. Our projects include installing a 550 KW solar rooftop, buying an I-REC, installing an exhaust gas boiler, installing LED lights, installing a servo motor, installing a BLDC fan, and more.
Circular Economy – Recycling
Newage Group has implemented a different effort, material reutilization through recycling, to meet the needs of the current generation with limited resources. We are separating the recyclables from the facility's waste based on their color and composition. The cutting waste is then sent to various recycling facilities via "Reverse Resource."
Integrated Sludge Management
In terms of returning to public contact and consumption, industrial sludge has the potential to combine with water bodies or land, which could have detrimental effects on the environment and human health. Newage Group has teamed up with Geocycle and Lafarge Holcim to responsibly co-process our textile sludge in an effort to preserve both terrestrial and submerged life.
Rain Water Harvesting
Newage Group has taken the initiative to reduce the amount of ground water extracted for household use in the facilities in order to guarantee clean water and sanitation in the neighborhood. We erected rainwater collection tanks during the rainy season in an effort to limit the amount of ground water that is used.
BLDC Fan
Newage Group believes that small green initiatives can collectively make a big difference. The use of BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) fans is a timely and environmentally friendly decision to reduce factory power consumption and save energy. Newage Group has already begun replacing conventional fans with BLDC fans at various locations in the factory and have a plan to implement this technology on a larger scale very soon.
Exhaust Gas Boiler
Newage Group is committed to a sustainable world. We have taken several initiatives to reduce the use of fossil fuels and lower carbon dioxide emissions. As part of this effort, Newage Group is generating about one-third (1/3) of its total steam requirement through an Exhaust Gas Boiler (EGB). This technology not only saves energy but also significantly reduces excess heat emissions into the environment.
Steam G Trap
Ensuring efficiency and a safe working environment is one of the priorities of Newage Group. To achieve this goal, the company is integrating Steam G Trap into their steam generation and distribution system. It saves energy by automatically removing condensate, increases the efficiency of the steam line and ensures safety by preventing condensate. As a result, the working environment is becoming safer, as well as increasing efficiency.
Solar Rooftop PV
Renewable energy is now a major source of power for Newage Group as part of its dedication to environmental sustainability. The company upgraded and installed a 566 kWp rooftop solar PV system in 2024, which enables it to generate power at an efficiency of about 80%. This effort will enable Newage Group to achieve a 39% reduction in its greenhouse gas emissions. Sewing, finishing, cutting, and other processes across the plant use the electricity produced by this system.
